Sidnee Lusón is an American songwriter whose observation of social events has long been the mainstay of his work. His first movie credits include three tunes in the Al Pacino movie Cruising with a band whose lead singer was physically disabled and promoted equal rights for that population. His song Free James Brown helped raise global attention to the plight of legendary soul singer James Brown and the racial inequities in our justice system. It helped garner a national debate, leading to Mr. Brown’s eventual release from prison.
